About PolSEFF 2

PolSEFF is the second edition of the successful Polish Sustainable Energy Financing Facility programme developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It is implemented as a part of the NF Programme, which is operated by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

PolSEFF is a  €200 million credit line made available to participating banks. The banks then offer loans to SMEs for financing energy efficiency investments.

Two types of investment projects are eligible to participate in the programme:

Energy Efficiency
Improvement Projects

Investments in equipment, systems and processes that enable the beneficiaries to reduce primary and/or end use of electric energy, fuels or other types of energy.

These investments must result in energy savings of at least 20%.

Building Thermo-modernisation Projects

Energy efficiency measures in commercial and residential buildings that require energy performance certification, and may include investments that generate energy from renewable sources.

These investments must result in energy savings of at least 30%.

The PolSEFF2 programme is cooperating with a project named  Polish Carbon Development for Small and Medium Enterprises. As part of the transition to a commercially sustainable financing scheme, the EBRD provides support to the Polish Ministry of Environment in developing and piloting market-based mechanisms for stimulating energy efficiency and renewable energy investments in Polish SMEs.
